The 6th edition of Broadcast Today 2012 is an International Exhibition for the Complete Broadcast, Production & Post Production Industry scheduled for 27, 28 & 29th July at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, India. INDIAN BROADCASTING INDUSTRY
The Indian television broadcasting companies (comprising GECs and news broadcasting channels) have reported a healthy revenue growth of 13.2 per cent during 2010-11, according to a study conducted by ICRA.

The number of direct-to-home (DTH) subscribers witnessed a growth of 62 per cent in 2010-11 and the pace of digitization is set to get a fillip by the recent move by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) requiring the four metros in the country to be fully digitized by March 2012, and the rest of the country to be digitized by December 2014

  • The total number of TV channels grew from 461 in 2009 to 626 in January 2011 according to FICCI ( Star Network, Sony TV, Zee & Sun Group are among the prominent ones)
